Jackson Alves Textura Typeface
A gothic style Textura Quadrata typeface
I created this typeface as a tool to optimize the process of creating a calligraphic composition or even help beginners to study and practice calligraphy in the gothic style. The font has two styles: ‘Pen’ and ‘Skeleton’. The style ‘Pen’ emulates the gothic style made with a broad edge nib calligraphy pen and the style ‘Skeleton’ shows the ductus of the letters, where you need to trace the pen to get the correct shape.
People who are starting learning calligraphy can use the Skeleton style to print and practice writing over it. Professionals can use it to create the calligraphic composition much faster on the computer using the Pen style and then print the Skeleton style as a guide for their calligraphic projects on paper. It's a technique I usually use when I have projects with a tight deadline, and it really saves me time!

How it works
How you can use the font to help you on calligraphy
Como funciona: Como você pode usar a fonte para lhe ajudar na caligrafia.
1st. Create the composition on Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop or other graphic APP.
1º. Cria a composição em software gráfico como Adobe Illustrator, por exemplo.
2nd. Set the proportional font size based on which pen you'll use.
2º. Configure o tamanho da fonte conforme a caneta que vai usar.
3th. Change the style to ‘Skeleton’.
3º. Mude o estilo da fonte para ‘Skeleton’.
4th. Add the guides. Type several underlines ‘_ ’ and set the OpenType feature ‘Discretionary ligatures’.
4º. Adicione as guias. Digite vários underlines ‘_’ e ative a opção ‘Discretionary ligatures’ na janela de OpenType.
5th. Print it!
5º Imprima!
6th. Write over the Skeleton with you calligraphy pen.
6º. Escreva por cima do esqueleto com sua caneta de caligrafia.
7th. Your masterpiece ir ready!
8º Seu trabalho está pronto!
